What is Embodied Nervous System Coaching?
Embodied nervous system coaching works with the body and the breath, creating direct pathways to regulation.
Using posture-specific breathing, gentle movement, and supportive positioning, this approach helps release chronic tension and bracing patterns that keep the nervous system stuck in stress or hypervigilance.
Many of us have lived through periods of high stress, injury, long-term illness, or ongoing overwhelm. In response, the body adapts by developing unconscious holding patterns designed to keep us safe in the moment.
Over time, these protective patterns can become our new “normal.” Breathing becomes restricted. Posture becomes guarded. Muscles stay tense. And even with therapy, somatic work, or other tools, the nervous system can struggle to access parasympathetic states.
By supporting the body with precise breathing, functional movement, and postural realignment, embodied nervous system coaching gives the nervous system a direct, physical way to move out of stress and into calm, allowing regulation to happen in real time.
This creates an embodied “in” to a parasympathetic state - one your system can start to recognise, return to, and build on over time.
Why Most Approaches Don't create lasting regulation...
Nervous system regulation is a hot topic. But for a lot of people, recommended regulation "practices" feel ineffective. Here’s why:
- They rely on insight or understanding alone, without giving the body a felt sense of safety.
- They focus on surface-level techniques, while missing the deeper bracing, guarding, and postural patterns that keep the nervous system on high alert.
- They encourage relaxation, but don’t change how the body actually holds itself - so tension returns as soon as the session ends.
- They may bring temporary relief, but the effects don’t last, and meaningful shifts aren’t always felt in real time.
For people who are highly sensitive, have lived through trauma, or carry long-standing stress, the body often stays in a state of protection. Breathing becomes shallow, muscles remain braced, and posture adapts for survival.
Until these patterns are gently released, the nervous system continues to default to stress and vigilance - no matter how much you understand what’s happening, or how hard you try to "think calm".

Dan is a trauma-informed Embodied Nervous System Coach, Certified Functional Strength Coach, and Unyte Certified SSP Practitioner with over a decade of experience helping people release chronic pain, break long-standing stress patterns, and build nervous system resilience.
What sets Dan apart is not just his training, it’s his lived experience. Having navigated his own journey through nervous system dysregulation, mental health challenges, and medication withdrawal, he understands firsthand the challenges his clients face. This depth of insight, combined with years of training across movement, nervous system science, and holistic wellness, gives him a rare ability to quickly identify root patterns and create real, felt change.
