At SSP Wellness Center, we’re not trying to sign up everyone. We’re here to work with people who are ready to create real change — and the process is far more rewarding (and effective) when we’re all aligned on pace, boundaries, and expectations.
We’re not selective for the sake of it. We’re selective because SSP is a collaboration between you, your nervous system, and us. And the best results happen when all three are on the same page.
We’d rather help a smaller number of clients experience remarkable results than help everyone get lukewarm ones. That’s why we’re clear about who tends to thrive with us, and who might be better served by waiting until they’re ready — because this process only works when you feel safe, supported, and genuinely ready to engage with it.
Here are 29 reasons people love working with us (we’re sure there are more!), 15 signs we might not be your best fit right now, and a few tips to help you prepare for when the time is right.
27 Reasons You Should Work With Us
- You’re ready to go deep.
You don’t just want symptom relief – you want meaningful shifts in how you feel and function. - You value long-term results over quick fixes.
You’d rather have a gradual, lasting improvement than a “miracle” that fades in a week. - You understand nervous system nuance.
You understand that every nervous system is unique and that nervous system work is multifaceted. It’s not just about quick fixes or TikTok trends. - You value the process.
You know rushing your nervous system is never the solution to dysregulation. You’re patient enough to let it unfold without charging through like a bull in a china shop. - You appreciate our bespoke microdosing approach.
You understand when and why going extra slow might be needed. Even if it’s slower than you pictured, you understand the “why” – whether it takes three months or a year. - You have realistic expectations.
You know SSP is powerful, but not magic (though sometimes it feels that way!). - You understand that temporary discomfort can be part of growth.
You’re prepared to sit with discomfort, get curious about it, and notice what it’s telling you. - You’re curious about your own inner world.
You want to understand your patterns, behaviours, and triggers (even when it’s uncomfortable), and the role they play in where you are at. You are not just trying to “get rid” of symptoms. - You see us as collaborators.
We bring the SSP framework; you bring your lived experience. Together, we find what works best for your system. - You trust our expertise.
You value both our professional knowledge and our personal experience with SSP. You’re open to our guidance, while bringing your own insights to the process. - You’re committed to showing up — however that looks.
Whether that means pausing and starting again, stretching your comfort zone, or listening for just a few seconds at a time, you’re willing to engage consistently with your process. - You’re open to feedback.
You’re willing to hear guidance that may challenge your current perspective or feel uncomfortable at first. You see it as part of the journey, not criticism. - You’re okay with boundaries.
You respect our set hours and response times, understanding that clear boundaries help us provide the highest quality support for you. - You have strong emotional support outside of us.
Friends, family, partner, a therapist — you have people you can lean on. SSP isn’t meant to be your only lifeline and is not crisis support. - You’re comfortable asking for help.
You speak up before your nervous system reaches overload, and you reach out if things feel challenging. - You already have a therapist or practitioner team.
You recognize the importance of combining SSP with other modalities that support your nervous system, and you’re open to guidance and recommendations along the way. - You see value in preparation.
You’re willing to invest time in onboarding and setup because you know it lays the foundation for meaningful, lasting results. - You like structure, but not rigid rules.
You appreciate a clear path to follow, with flexibility to accommodate life’s realities. - You’re proactive.
You engage with the resources we provide instead of letting them sit in your inbox — actively supporting your nervous system both within and outside of sessions. - You’re willing to communicate openly and honestly.
You share what’s working and what’s not, so we can adjust your process together. - You’re ready and able to notice subtle changes.
You celebrate “glimmers” (even small ones), and recognize progress, even when it isn’t dramatic. - You’ve done healing work before.
This isn’t your first healing rodeo. You’ve laid foundations, and SSP feels like the next step in your journey. - You understand your symptoms are part of a bigger picture.
You see the nervous system as the foundation for deeper healing. If specific symptoms resolve along the way, that’s a bonus and not the main goal. - You want honesty from your provider.
You value kind, clear honesty and guidance you can trust — even when it challenges you. - You’re prepared to invest in your wellbeing.
You’re willing to commit time, energy, and resources to support meaningful, lasting change. - You’ve done SSP before.
You know what to expect, and you’re ready to go deeper this time. - You understand that healing isn’t linear.
You know progress can come in windows and waves. Sometimes forward, sometimes sideways. You’re patient with the process, noticing growth even when it doesn’t feel straightforward — or even comfortable.

15 Signs You Might Want to Wait
- You want instant results.
If you need to be “fixed” by next week, SSP with us will likely feel frustrating. - You’re looking for a magic bullet.
SSP isn’t something that just happens to you. Your active participation really matters — both in sessions and in how you support your nervous system throughout your day. - You want us to do the work for you.
If you’re not willing or able to create time and space for listening, add small moments of regulation, or make lifestyle choices that support your nervous system, this work won’t give you the results you want. - You’re not ready to look at your own patterns.
That’s totally okay. But if all the responsibility sits with the provider, the process stalls. - You repeatedly ask for advice but feel you can’t act on it.
This can be frustrating for both of us and usually indicates that it’s not the right time to engage in deeper work. - You see the program as the problem if things get hard.
Bumps along the way are a normal part of the process, not a sign that SSP is broken. - You’re not open to suggestions.
Asking for help is encouraged, but ongoing resistance or dismissal slows progress. - You want 24/7 crisis availability.
We maintain healthy boundaries so we can provide the best support during scheduled work hours. - You struggle to accept that every nervous system is different.
Some people notice shifts in minutes, others need hours or multiple sessions. There’s no universal timeline, and each system moves at its own pace. - You can’t invest time to support yourself outside of listening sessions.
Nervous system work is layered. Reflection, regulation practices, and lifestyle choices all contribute to meaningful progress. - You’re not ready to consider additional support.
SSP works best alongside other resources and support systems. Doing it entirely in isolation can limit results. - You believe nothing ever works for you.
Your nervous system responds to every thought you have. If you’re mainly here to confirm that “nothing ever works,” it’s worth exploring that mindset before starting SSP. - You have limited emotional or body-based awareness.
If you’re unable or unwilling to notice what your body is telling you, we cannot guide the process effectively. - You’re doing “all the things” at once.
Stacking SSP on top of multiple therapies, medications, supplements, or intense healing practices makes it difficult to track what’s working and can overwhelm your system. - You can’t make time for check-ins or provider emails.
Regular communication (especially during the pacing phase), is a key part of your SSP journey. If you’re unable to engage with check-ins, updates, or guidance we send, it will be difficult to get the full benefit of the process.

If You’re Not Quite Ready Yet…
Sometimes reading a list like this can bring up resistance or feel triggering. That doesn’t mean SSP is off the table forever. Think of it as an invitation to prepare, so you can get the most out of it when you do start.
Here are a few ways to get ready:
- Build self-awareness. Try journaling daily about your emotional and physical state.
- Practice interoceptive awareness. Set a timer three times a day and ask, “What sensations can I feel in my body right now?”
- Learn about nervous system basics. We recommend subscribing to our Ultimate SSP subscription if nervous system work is entirely new to you, so you can feel fully supported.
- Notice your patterns. What are they telling you? What feels uncomfortable? Explore this with a trusted person, therapist, or our somatic coach, Elena.
- Simplify your healing stack. If you’re engaged in multiple intense therapies at once, consider scaling back so you can track what’s helping before starting SSP.
When you’re ready, SSP can be a powerful catalyst. If you choose to work with us, we’ll meet you exactly where you are — as long as you’re willing to meet yourself there too.
